Boot Camp Night Out

Tonight the Boot Camp girls and guys, their husbands and kids got together. Thank you Claudia and Steve for opening your beautiful home to us all.

These girls have a special place in my heart. We (most of us, I have been a slacker the last few weeks!) meet each week day morning between 5:30 AM and 6:00 AM. We share our lives while on the treadmill for an hour or so. We have gone through the death of a parent and a lifelong friend. We have walked beside each other while a family member or friend endures chemo/radiation. We share the joys and new experiences of our kids/grandkids. When we don’t show up, someone is emailing or texting you. These women love one another without makeup, with unaboob bras and dripping wet with sweat at the end of our workouts. I call these women and men my very dear friends!

Lvonne has to put up with us on Fridays. By this time of the week the class has usually dwindled down to the hard core group.

I'm looking forward to another evening out!

Ten Year Engagement Anniversary

Today is Hal and my ten year Engagement Anniversary. We remember the evening well. I was living in Austin and Hal in Dallas. It was his turn to make the trek to Austin. I made plans for us to go out on Lake Travis on our favorite pontoon boat (Pumpkin) for the evening. As usually, we had our smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers with crackers and wine of course.  We made our usually tour around the lake and then found a peacefully cove to anchor. The evening was beautiful, light warm breeze and a full moon. We went for a swim, had dinner and was enjoying the beautiful night.

And then he asked….Will You Marry Me?

And then I said….Absolutely YES!

Tonight we celebrated at Venezia. One of our favorite Italian restaurants. It’s a BYOW. Thanks to KW and Julie we took a 2006 Domaine Leflaive Puligny Montrachet
Looking forward to another 10 years my love.

Happy Birthday Shelly

Shelly and Julie share today as their special day.  Greg arranged for a few of us to get together and surprise Shelly, and we did!  There is nothing better than a true happy surprise.  A face all lit up with excitement and happiness.  Happy Birthday Girlfriend...love you dearly.

Austin and Micky joined us for just a moment.  It was great to see them.

Princess for the evening

Happy Birthday Julie

Today is Julie's birthday and we send you our love and wishes for a Happy Birthday.  However, we know this is not the best way to celebrate your special day and therefore we have also prayed for you.  Julie had minor surgery this morning.  We got word from KW around noon that the surgery went as expected and they anticipated her to be released by 1:00 to go home and celebrate.  She's such the party animal.
Thank you KW for the pic!

Game Day

Yesterday was “Game Day” for the Aggies and Denton’s at the new Cowboy Stadium (Jerry’s World / Death Star). We started the day at Boomer Jacks sports bar.  Nothing like a bizillion TV's to catch all the games. It is always so much fun to watch any game with Keith.  He just really doesn't care about the win or lose, or how you play the game....... NOT!!!  Here he is all relaxed, little anticipation before the game.

Then on to the Cowboy's Stadium.  And who do you think we found, Taylor!  Thank you Casey for letting Taylor come to the game, can't wait to meet you.

The stadium is huge to say the least.  Below is the jumbotron (60 yds long x 20 yds high or 7 busses long and 2 busses high and 600 tons)

Bryan Trubey (to Jerry's left) is the archicture for the stadium and is an  A&M graduate.  Jerry was awarded "Spirit of Place Architecture Award"

Lauren, John and his family were there in the Jone's suite (not far from us)

Some of Lauren's girlfriends were there as well (Shelby, Maria, Michelle, Lauren).  The girls sat right behind us, so cute and so sweet.  We hear about them all the time from Julie and KW and it was great to meet them.

It was a fun outing for the fam (until after half time!)

We got to meet John, Lauren's boyfriend. (John is on the left)

John quickly became our photographer for us.

It gives you goose bumps when the Aggie band comes out on the field.  There is so much respect for the Aggie band and below you can see and hear why.  This is for you Blake and Camille, you were missed!

Julie is in town

Julie came in to town for the weekend and we have had a blast with her (KW is fishing). Thursday evening I had an appointment so she and Hal met up with John and Susan at Casa Milagra for Mexican food and margaritas.

Friday night we celebrated Oktoberfest having sausage and beer for dinner. I highly recommend Shiner Hefeweizen.  John, Susan, Liz, Keith and Elysse joined us for a beautiful evening.

Kitty always has to be part of the action

Kitty

Kitty is a very special cat.  She thinks she is part cat/dog and we love it.  You have the sweetness of a soft furry cat and the playfulness of a dog.  Yes, a dog.  She loves fun and games.  Especially fetching.

check out the video below.  She and Hal have really bonded!
