Boot Camp Girls

This group of girls got up each morning and met at the gym at 6:00 AM for many years.  I have blogged about this group of girls in the past and how they have touched my life in so many ways.  We have lost parents and loved ones, we have kids that have married and now a baby...Liam.
Mom, Dad and sweet baby.

I love and miss you girls!

Inasmuch, 2011

For the past five years our church has participated in a community wide volunteer project called Inasmuch.  This is my first year to participate and I had a blast.  I really learned a lot on how food pantry's are organized.  We served at God's Pantry this morning.  Linda was our volunteer coordinator.  She is amazing.  She not only serves those who need God's Pantry she also works with a multitude of volunteers.  I am so impress with her attitude towards us all.  Kathy was our church Project Leader.  What a way to spend your Saturday, serving the community with your friends!
Our first assignment was to remove all bar codes from the packages, count each item and then bag the breads and sweets. Wendy and Kalie where a great mother daughter team.

Look who is having so much fun
Our next assignment was to bag 7 boxes of cookie dough.  Each bag had 18 + cookies (don't tell Linda).  After the cookie dough, we were promoted to bagging 60 lbs of flour and 90 lbs of sugar in little bags.  I felt like Lucy in the chocolate assembly line, with sugar, flour and sharpie all over me.  I love you Lord!  Thank you.

Kalie spent the rest of her morning giving out food to those who came in need.  Can you imagine receiving a donation from this sweet girl?

Texas Bluebonnets

It's spring time in Texas and the Bluebonnets are beautiful. You can find them almost anywhere along the highways and parks these days.

Hal was thrilled with the idea of taking our pictures today in the bluebonnets.

Love you Babe.....

Anna Michelle Denton

I just love the name of our grandauther.  I know she will be as cute and sweet as her name.  We stopped by E&K's to get an update on the nursery.  Elysse is so creative....

I can hardly wait to meet her!!!

Great weekend

Chris and Melissa came in town for the weekend to see the races.  We picked them up from the airport and headed to Five Sixty for an evening of dinning and wining with Keith.  Elysse was headed to Midland for the weekend to work on things for Anna's nursery.  Last year Julie, KW, Camille and Blake gave Hal a gift certificate for his birthday to Five Sixty, Wolfgang Puck's restaurant at the top of Reunion Tower.  Hal and I have been there before and loved the food, service and atmosphere.  You can see all of the skyline of Dallas and surrounding area.  It was a lovely evening and we had a wonderful time.  Do you see a glass of wine in front of Keith???
Latour is one of KW's favorite wines....it was wonderful.
We came home and spent another hour (or so) on the patio winding down the late evening with a bottle of Yum Yum wine.  I didn't want the evening to end.....
The next morning my dad came over for brunch, Elizabeth was not feeling well.  We had such an enjoyable morning just hanging out...I'm on cloud nine now!

I love you sweetheart!

March, the transition month

I love the fact that so many people enjoy my blog.  I never knew it was read by so many, until you don't post for a while and you get..."why are you posting anymore?"  Well...get ready because April is going to be a busy month.  We have spent the month of March transitioning from winter to spring.  A few bike rides, a few top down days, working in the yard, hanging out with our friends on the patio and just enjoying the beauty of spring.  Everywhere you turn, there are signs of spring and I love that.
Julie was serving at Passion in Ft Worth over the weekend and stayed over to spend the night.  Keith and Elysse joined us for dinner.  I can now announce the name of our grandaughter, Anna Michelle Denton. We look forward to  meeting her and loving on her.
