Shower for LBD

It seems so long ago that Melissa had a shower in Atlanta for Logan.  She was sweet and invited me and I was thrilled to go.  It was a touch and go period whether she would be home or in the hospital for the shower as she was going to the doctor on a daily basis for sonograms.  She convenience the doctors that if she could be home for the shower she would not do anything.  Do you know how difficult it is to do nothing when your girlfriends are there preparing for your shower in your home and all you can do is watch?  I was totally impress with her.  But of course, she is totally impressive!
Here is momma at 28 weeks.
Andrea, Johnna and Helen.  Such sweet friends.
Trish did her magic with flowers.  They were everywhere and so beautiful.
More food than you can imagine and all prepared with love.

So many sweet things for LBD

 The girls.
Trish, Melissa and Me.
Chris and Melisa just completed renovating their backyard.  The weather was perfect.  Several neighbors stopped by to check out the finished product, visit and have a glass of wine.

Melissa's grandmother, June and Trish potted some beautiful flowers.
Patrick looks very relaxed in that chair.
Banyon came with his big wheel.  Cute little boy.
 Helen finally chilling.
I fell in love with Cara.  She has the best sense of humor and just adorable.
Chris having his first beverage of the night.  Ready to chill with the rest of us.
It was a great weekend and perfect timing.  Since this is a late post....here is LBD

Pierce's Tree

Grandpa and I decided that since we had so much yard we would plant a tree for each of our grand kids.  Pierce being the oldest got to plant the first tree and it was perfect timing as he was here!

The history behind Pierce's tree:
Paul, who works with Hal, father passed away very unexpectedly.  He was in the landscape business and had a yard full of shrubs and trees.  One morning we woke up to find several plants on the barn patio.  One of the plants was a Shumard Red Oak.  The Shumard Oak is a stately tree with beautiful fall color and great urban adaptability. It is drought tolerant and fast growing.  Produces small acorns loved by deer and squirrels.  The description of this tree I felt described Pierce.  He is a strong personality with a very gentle soul.  We will also have a remembrance of Paul's dad.

Camille and the boys drove up just about the time we were getting ready to plant and Pierce could hardly wait to jump out of the car and help plant his tree.
They dug until the hole was just the right size.
Pierce loves to help and be involved.

I love these pictures of Grandpa and Pierce working together.

We need to give it lots and lots of water.

And the treat is....you get to ride to the barn.  Good job Pierce.  We will take good care of your tree.
Four months later...the tree has it's fall colors.

Bailey Lynn Denton Baptism

As I mentioned in one of my earlier post, our grand kids are a great reason for the family to get together.  On this occasion it was to celebrate Bailey's Baptism.  This little girl is amazing, awesome, sweet spirit and reminds me of a little China Doll.

I have to say that this baptism was a little different.....from the beginning.  It's such a good thing Bailey is a "go with the flow" little girl.

When we arrived at the church, the fire truck and ambulance arrived soon after.  We were all standing in the parking lot chit chatting and there they come.  We didn't really give it a lot of thought because it was all about Bailey and we had her.  So let's get on with the ceremony.

To begin with, the Priest was a little preoccupied and we couldn't quite figure out what was going on.  Anna's Baptism was very formal and by the book, so to speak.  There seemed to be a lot of ad libbing going on.  And then the Priest presents Bailey as BAILEY MICHELLE DENTON.  What???  The look on Elysse's face was priceless.  But none the less, the ceremony continued.
Now Grandpa Jim is asked to come up  and read scripture...really?  OK, he did a good job.  Read from the bible and gave some of his own interpretation really?  We learned later that the person assisting the Priest during the baptism had fallen and was rushed to the hospital.

In the end, it was a beautiful ceremony full of the Holy Spirit and blessings on Bailey Lynn Denton.
Keith is amazing with his girls.  He is an awesome dad.
Elysse is an amazing mom.  She knows how to juggle a lot of balls and makes everyone feel super special.
This is what Elysse looks like most days....her girls and smiling.
 One sweet family.
We got a few family shots before the the professional photographer arrived.

 A lot of love here.

Asher's First Birthday Pary

We typically get to celebrate Pierce's birthday when Blake and Camille are home for the holidays and so excited we got to have Asher's 1st birthday party this year.  Grand kids....it's what brings us all together as family and I just love that.  Vivi and Granddad hosted the big day and they always do it in style.  There was so mcuh food, fun and entertainment as you can just imagine.
Our Birthday Boy!
The weather was perfect to have this event outdoors and Vivi had it decorated so sweet.
Those are little buckets are hanging from burlap.  There were bubbles (Anna's favorite) for each kid...amazing!
Entertainment for everyone.

Great idea with the frame.  We all have many of those around.

We were all so thrilled that Sam was in town to join the fun.
 Nanna of course was there.
Vivi took a minute out of preparing and serving us to get some Asher time.
Grandpa didn't want to let go of Bailey.
This sweet boy smiles from the moment he wakes up until the moment he gently lays his head down at night.  Someone who truly enjoys life!

You can tell these women are such dear friends.

We all know that KW is probably up to no good with whispering who knows what.
Another couple who loves life and shows it every day.  What a gift to each other.
I didn't get all of Shelly's kids as they were having such fun, but here is the youngest and just adorable.
Boys will be boys and their toys.
I think this is such a sweet picture of Julie and Vicki.
Can you tell the theme of the party was balls?

Bailey is wrapped up in there somewhere.  Such a trooper she is.  Goes with the flow.
 Full of love and happiness.
This is Camille's grandmother and she is a lovely lady.  Great Grand mama I believe is what she's called.
Dale finally takes a moment to sit and relax and enjoy some time with the birthday boy.  Although Asher's eyes are looking like he is ready for a nap and winding down from the sugar rush.
Happy Birthday Asher we love you!
