Austin Spa

Hal gave me a gift certificate for my birthday in 2013 to Travaasa Spa in Austin.  I thought I would re-gift and give it to him for Father's Day.  It was a wonderful weekend.

One of the joys of the weekend was that we had dinner with a few friends from Highland Lakes Software (HLS), where I use to work in Austin.  We met at Iguana Grill.  One of our favorite places to have lunch.
Steven and me.  I love this man!

Annie and Charlie, PJ, Kathy and Jim, Leslie and Steve, Jim and Jan and Beth and Steven.  We missed all those who couldn't make.
Iguana Grill still has a beautiful view of sunsets, not so much for Lake Travis.  The lake so needs water.

I'm sure this was a very deep conversation.  Jim and Jan are building a home on their property in Blanco.  Leslie, always listening.
Two of the funniest people I know.  Kathy cracks me up....all the time.  She pretty much says EVERYTHING she thinks.
PJ was our rock of the company.  I really don't know how she stood us must of the time.  We were terrible.
Steve and Leslie started their own brewery, Solid Rock.  Check out their beer when you are in Austin.
Annie and Charlie...what can I say but these two are such an example of love.
This sums up our SPA time.  It was so relaxing.  Thanks babe for the gift.  Hope you enjoyed yours as much as I did.

Memorial Weekend

I can't believe it's mid July and I'm just now getting around to blogging about Memorial Day weekend.  We had the joy of having Betty Merrill, Hal's sister, come visit us.  We didn't make this trip quiet as crazy as we have in the past.  Julie came up and we had a little fun day over at Keith & Elysse's with the girls.
I bought a Slip N Slid for some fun.  I remember having one of these and my girlfriend Angie and I would play on it all day long.  This one wasn't very slippery.  Need to work on that.
The next day we went over to K&E's.  Keith cook us a delicious dinner.  We swam and swam and swam.
Betty Merrill just hanging out and enjoying the family fun.
GP, Elysse and the girls were the brave ones.
And here comes the rain and thunder.
The smart ones.  Dry with beverages.
And the rain just keeps coming.
Lost the bottoms to the swim suite.
 One tired little girl.
We had a Caddy Shack moment.  Elysse is directing where to scoop.  Keith has the scoop in hand.
A full day of fun and swim.  A little ice cream and I see bed in here future.
 Night night.  Great day/evening.

Shower for Stephanie and Jeff

Just one of the many things I love about our Small Group is that we share our kids lives with each other.  It's one of our common joys in life....our kids and grand kids.

Kevin and Margaret's daughter Stephanie and her finance were married June 7th.  We had the joy of having them join one of our Small Group nights and just hang out with us.  They are such a cute couple and we wish them the very best in their journey of life together.
I'm sure Jerry is giving Jeff some good advice.

The evening was just lovely and we could sit outside.
 Babe just a grilling.
 The girls.

Poor Jerry.  He just drove in from Mo Ranch.  Can you tell he was a little tired?
I let Margaret have my camera and she took pictures of food and drinks.

And she thought everything was awesome!

 Love my BFF's.
 They look like sisters.

So sweet when you catch that look of "I Love You"

I love Margaret.  She is the most real person I know.

Jeff trying to figure out what to do with some of the gifts they received.
Prayers for a very happy life together.

Team LBD

Such a special weekend to support a great cause.  We have participated in contributing to the March of Dimes for our friends and this year we reached out to them for support for Team LBD.  As you may know our sweet Logan was born at 28 weeks after Melissa had been on bed rest for quite some time.  We are so thankful for this sweet boy who has brought so much joy to our lives.
We arrived Friday afternoon so Chris and Grandpa put up a sun shade and it was welcomed the next day for the BBQ.  Of course there was some discussion on how this should be done.

Can't you see the love this mom has for this sweet boy.
Helen and Brian arrived early as well.  It was a beautiful evening to enjoy the backyard.
 Patricia and Brian.
The next morning we arrived at the grounds and found our table.
 Love my boy!
Marcia and Ian.  Marcia is Logan's nanny and Ian is her husband who is so easy going.  Super nice.
 Melissa and Banyon.

 Patricia and dad.
The meeting grounds.  Interesting fact is this is where Passion was held in 2011 and 2012.  I felt we were still on Holy Ground.

 Suzane's daughter's, Suzane and Allie.
 TEAM LBD

This little boy was such a trouper.  Not sure of his relationship to the group.
It was really neat to walk the streets downtown Atlanta.

 We made it!!!!

 Angie and Chris

After the walk we all went to Melissa and Chris's for a BBQ lunch, relax, fun and game.

It's a must to be balanced with a beer when tossing the corn bag.
 Cheers!

I love the innocent of children.

This is that same little boy.
 Trish and Helen.
 Allie and Joe.
 Suzane and Brandon.

These are the twin girls and their parents who where in the NICU with Logan.
 My sweet little boy.
Jerry and his family stopped by.

We put Logan through the mill with picture taking the next day.  Poor guy was worn out before we left for brunch.  Still a trooper.
I love love this picture.  The love of this family is captured in this photo.
This is my favorite....See a trend here?
 Love this one as well.
And this one.
I love you Logan Bradley Douglas.
