The 2nd and 4th Monday of each month our Small Group meet for fellowship, dinner and someday study. We are big into the fellowship and dinner part. However this evening we had the opportunity to provide an “Act of Service” for our church. Jerry is chair of the Stewardship Committee and Faith Sunday is approaching. We gathered at the church to stuff envelopes for this occasion. Melinda and Homer, we missed you and aren't you glad now you weren't there???
Hal, Jerry, Margaret, Karen, Kevin (Note, do not put Hal at the beginning of an assembly line!)
Karen, Kevin, Kathy, Tim (it only took as an hour to stuff, seal and bundle)
Ahhhhhh, celebration and reward for good job well done faithful servants!
I love Sundays.....Our church, our friends and families coming together to worship. Today was an exceptionally emotional day. Don delivered a sermon that truly made you/me stop and think and I love those kind of sermons. Then on to Roberts class with more food for thought. It didn’t stop there; Live 316 WOW! This service has experienced all the ups and downs one could not imagine and they persevered. Through all their trials they stayed committed as a community and GOD SHOWED UP. Alleluia Amen!
Today has been a lovely day. Slept in, breakfast at Cindi’s, worked at the church, a little shopping, and hanging out watching football. Life is GRAND. One of our daughter-in-laws however, has created a monster in her mother-in-law with blogging. Family and friends are starting to shy away from the camera and being recorded. I’m amazed how much we really do each and every day and I’m really enjoying journaling about the journey, thank you Camille!
Today, Canyon Creek Presbyterian Church hosted ACT. There were people from all over the state participating in various educational workshops. Mary Hodge organized this event with the help of a few of her friends. Diane Schmoll catered the lunch and it was wonderful, thanks Diane. The day was gorgeous! Everyone loved our church and hospitality. Thank you CCPC!
Last night the Ingle's, Litton's and Denton's got together for boiled shrimp, YUM! Kat and Jerry were suppose to be there as well, however Kat has been sick and well, Jerry is a very dear friend and sweet husband that went to pick up the shrimp and deliver it to us and then go home to take care of Kat. It was a beautiful evening sitting outside. We dined on 7 lbs of shrimp from CM and then watched a very intense but good movie, Definance.
Last night the Friendship Club got together for a lovely evening at the Dallas Arboretum. Oh my what a delightful evening it was. There was a band playing island music, in the background, while we ate and visited with friends. The evening was a crisp fall night. The grounds at the Arboretum are decorated with pumpkins everywhere. This venue is a great place for young and old.
Just hanging out on the lawn with our food and drinks.
Last weekend the Ingle's, Sander's and Denton's took a road trip to OKC. We have heard from the Ingle's for many years that Johnnies in OKC has the very best hamburgers, so we decided to check it out; a road trip!
Our recent trip to Winter Park, CO was filled with many hikes and enjoying the beauty of the mountains. I'm always in awe of God's creations. They were all breathtaking.
This is my first entry on our blog. We have so enjoyed reading other blogs and thought this would be a way of documenting the life of Grandpa and Grandma Denton for our kids and our grand kids.
