Fun Weekend

This last weekend was so much fun. Friday night we meet Rod and Mollie for dinner visiting and catching up.  It seems like ages since we had seem them.  The evening was lovely and we just hung outside on the patio at the Fish Shack.  Saturday we started our day with our typical bike ride to Cindi's for breakfast.  This is one of my favorite things to do on the weekend.  I have 18 miles of Hal's undivided attention.
That evening we went to the TCU vs TTU football game at TCU.  TTU hosted an alumni gathering that was really fun.  Hal has only been back to his college once that I know of, yet he has those fond memories of college days.  We met the athletic director, Mark Wilson.  I hope one day we can make a trip back and stop by and visit TTU and Mark.  The score was not in our favor, but the experience was.
We could hardly wait for Sunday and Kieth and Elysee to return from Keith's surprise birthday weekend in Atlanta.  We celebrate Keith's birthday with dinner and a cake, and Elysse and I celebrated Keith's birthday w/some KW wime.  Everyone was happy.

Winter Park, Co 9/2010

Last weekend we went to WP, CO w/the Ingles. Stopped by to see Susan, Chris, Katie and Stella in Denver in their beautiful new home. It looks like a Better Home & Gardens home. Very warm and inviting
The weather was just beautiful and I love how vibrant the flowers and the colors are.

Because of the Labor Day weekend they had all kinds of activities in the Village.

These are the runs we will be skiing down come February.
More beautiful flowers that line the street, walkways, hanging baskets.  They are everywhere.
Susan on our first lunch rock.  We got a late start on Saturday so we didn't get to finish our hike to Devils Thumb.  I can't wait to go back.  It was a beautiful hike through the woods.

Sunday we wanted to go out on the boat on Lake Grandby but it was too windy so we went looking for moose up to the Cascade Falls.  There had been reports of moose sightings but we didn't see any.  We did find the falls and they were beautiful and the perfect lunch place.
There is a lovely trail that runs from downtown WP to the slopes, Fraser Trail.  It's about 6 miles round trip.  Through the forest and meadows and ends up at one of our favorite places to sit outside and have a beer.
Just being silly....
Another great time in WP during the summer but far too short.  I think I'm going to retire.

Happy 40th Birthday Chris

Today is Chris's birthday, 40 years ago in the wee hours of the morning the joy of my life arrived.  I could write for hours and hours about the joy and love he brings to me, but instead here are a few pictures that I know he will just love having posted on this blog.  After all....few people actually look at the blog....

I love you

Bye Bye Chelsea

Over the years we have had Austin Nichols and Chelsea Boehmer join us for dinner after Renewal.  I have always been impress with, first of all,  them wanting to join the old folks for dinner but how they interact with us and share their lives and listen to ours.  These kids aren't just your normal kids....they are special in many ways and we have all grown to care and love them dearly.  Austin left earlier this month for Missouri and Chelsea left last Thursday.  Wednesday was our last dinner this summer with Chelsea before she headed off to Denison, Ohio.  We will miss her sweet smile, sweet personality and very loving spirit.
