Off to Paris, 2010

I love how Hal celebrates occassions.  He likes to start early.  Last night we started our vacation to Paris by dinning with Keith, Elysse, John and Susan at one of our favorite resturants, Venezia.

Nous sommes à la découverte de Paris et la région Bourgogne. Je suis tellement excitée au sujet de ce voyage. Tu vas nous manquer tous et espérons que vous reviendrez.

Wednesday nights at Casa Milagra

Most Wednesday nights after Renewal we head to Casa Milagra for our fix of Mexican food and a margarita.  Casa has a lovely patio and this time of the year it's beautiful.  We met up w/Rod and Mollie for a delightful relaxing evening.

New Look

I have been wanting new landscaping for the front for quite awhile.  Hal has been hesitant as he thinks any day now I will want to move.  At our last Cursillo event, I bid on a landscape consultation by Kevin Starns.  I knew this would be easy as Kevin did a makeover on our back yard.  Kevin is very easy to work with and very patient with his clients.  I had an image in my mind and he made it come true.  Thank you Kevin.

We may live in North Dallas, but I don't have to have the North Dallas look.

A&M vs AR at Jerrry World

Saturday we went to the A&M vs Arkansas game at Cowboy stadium, compliments of KW and Julie.  The seats were awesome (50 YD line, row 9).  Cushy seats w/ arm rests and cup holders.  We only wished A&M was as excited and had played better....there is the old saying....there's always next year.
Lauren and her girlfriends were there to help us have fun.  If I knew all there names I would list them.

The A&M band provided the pre-game entertainment.  You can't help but feel pride when this band comes on the field.  It's a moving experience.

Jerry Jones was in his suite just above us.

 K&E, what a sweet couple.
And Barry Switzer.  The game was an emotional roller coaster and we were all exhausted when we lost.

State Fair of Texas

Almost every year we go to the State Fair of Texas, and so last Thursday night we went and it was Seniors Day.....we all got in free!  We had our Fletcher's corny dog w/a beer, tornado tatters and funnel cake.  We had reports that the fried Frito pie and fried margarita were good as well.
Our first stop, was the Greyhound show....I think Hal watch the lady in black leather.  He doesn't remember the dogs.

Big Tex talked to us while we enjoyed our corny dog.  Welcoming us all to a lovely day and evening.
Our next exhibit was the "Butter Sculpture".  Amazing something this large is made of butter.

You can't have a fair without a parade.

The Ferris wheel in the background did not come out very well.  It was lite up so beautiful and looked so graceful.  Thanks John and Susan for going with us.

C & W Dancing

Hal and I are taking country western dance classes....again.  We took the class the first, second and now the third time around.  I have to say, this time has been the most enjoyable of all.  The first class was a little stressful only because we made it that way.  The second time around we took the intermediate class thinking we knew what we were doing.....NOT.  So this time we decided to take the basic class and just enjoy dancing.  Once again, our instructors are Gared and Shawna from A&M.  They are the sweetest couple and make dancing look so smooth and simple.  Here is a clip of them demoing the Push.

We will give you a demo of what we learned next week....stay tuned.

GNO at the Arboretum

Thursday night Mollie treated us to an evening at the Dallas Arboretum to hear the Legends.  What a beautiful place and a beautiful evening.  Mollie had bid on the auction item provided by Kathy G at our last Cursillo event and won!  As you can imagine, we did not want for anything.  We ate, drank, talked and had a lovely evening.  The Arboretum was decorated with a bizillion pumpkins...a beautiful place.
