Korea Trip - First Weekend

I am way behind on blogging and must get this special trip posted as GP and I had the best time.

One of the joys of Camille, Blake and the boys living abroad is that we travel to places we typically would not.....South Korea.  They always immerse themselves into the culture of the country were they live so when we visit we are very busy.
I don't know how Blake and Camille do it....they have very busy lives separately and with a family and yet they seem to balance them well.
When we arrived in Korea in August, after B&C being in the state for weeks, one of Blake's ships was being commissioned.  In Singapore they just set it free, in Korea they do it in style.  They have a  very formal ceremony with white glove and all the special touches.  We had the joy of having some special time with the boys while they attended the festivities.  I just love this picture of Blake and Asher.
So grown up and beautiful and a gift to us!
One morning I caught GP and Pierce building something.  Love these moments.
We took a few things with us and one of them was a 3-D puzzle.  Pierce can put one of these together in a matter of moments.  He has the most amazing logic for a 6 year old.  But then he stated this very early.  I love this sweet smile.

Mom and dad arrive home from their evening away, we are having some cabin fever so go for a hike.  Korea has some awesome hiking adventures.

 The scenery is beautiful.
Asher is just one happy boy.
I just love this picture of Pierce.  Don't you just want to squeeze him?

We tried to do some family photos but we were all so hot and sweaty.

We took a stroll along the beach and found this jelly fish.  It was totally amazing.
After our hike and stroll we found a wonderful place for dinner.
Men we love.
After dinner we went to the top of the condo and took a few photos.  They have such a view.

Stay tune for more adventures.  As you can imagine there are cute pictures of the boys and beautiful scenery...and yes mom and dad sometimes!

Grandma's First Visit with Logan

This past weekend I got to see, hold, kiss and love on,  Logan.  It was my first time to meet him and oh so special.  I think sometime we take for granted the wonders of God's creation of life. It's such a miracle,  thus the 42 weeks, or 37 full term, etc. So when you have a sweet little boy arrive early (31 weeks) things are a little different.  Instead of our miracle progressing in the womb, he is here in NICU.
Chris arrived from Houston just in time for Logan's 8:00 pm evening snack.  My hands have never been so clean.
Logan is being introduced to the pacifier in preparation for his bottle feeding.  He is doing so well.  Those sweet eyes make my heart melt.
I could have sat there all day and just watched him.
Mel was so sweet to let Chris and I go in together for the feeding.  Afterwards we changed his clothes, etc.  Chris is really good with Logan, changing his diaper and clothes.  Mom did come in an double check us and it was a good thing.  Had a few too many wires inside his jammies.
Now this in mother / son bonding.  Melissa is so good with Logan.  He is already tracking her voice.
 Getting ready for nite nite.
We saw Logan twice on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
He really does love his foggier pacifier.  Cara certainly knew all the things Logan would love.
Those sweet little hands.  So special when he grabs hold of yours.
 I love this little boy!
See you soon Logie Bear

Shower for LBD

It seems so long ago that Melissa had a shower in Atlanta for Logan.  She was sweet and invited me and I was thrilled to go.  It was a touch and go period whether she would be home or in the hospital for the shower as she was going to the doctor on a daily basis for sonograms.  She convenience the doctors that if she could be home for the shower she would not do anything.  Do you know how difficult it is to do nothing when your girlfriends are there preparing for your shower in your home and all you can do is watch?  I was totally impress with her.  But of course, she is totally impressive!
Here is momma at 28 weeks.
Andrea, Johnna and Helen.  Such sweet friends.
Trish did her magic with flowers.  They were everywhere and so beautiful.
More food than you can imagine and all prepared with love.

So many sweet things for LBD

 The girls.
Trish, Melissa and Me.
Chris and Melisa just completed renovating their backyard.  The weather was perfect.  Several neighbors stopped by to check out the finished product, visit and have a glass of wine.

Melissa's grandmother, June and Trish potted some beautiful flowers.
Patrick looks very relaxed in that chair.
Banyon came with his big wheel.  Cute little boy.
 Helen finally chilling.
I fell in love with Cara.  She has the best sense of humor and just adorable.
Chris having his first beverage of the night.  Ready to chill with the rest of us.
It was a great weekend and perfect timing.  Since this is a late post....here is LBD

Pierce's Tree

Grandpa and I decided that since we had so much yard we would plant a tree for each of our grand kids.  Pierce being the oldest got to plant the first tree and it was perfect timing as he was here!

The history behind Pierce's tree:
Paul, who works with Hal, father passed away very unexpectedly.  He was in the landscape business and had a yard full of shrubs and trees.  One morning we woke up to find several plants on the barn patio.  One of the plants was a Shumard Red Oak.  The Shumard Oak is a stately tree with beautiful fall color and great urban adaptability. It is drought tolerant and fast growing.  Produces small acorns loved by deer and squirrels.  The description of this tree I felt described Pierce.  He is a strong personality with a very gentle soul.  We will also have a remembrance of Paul's dad.

Camille and the boys drove up just about the time we were getting ready to plant and Pierce could hardly wait to jump out of the car and help plant his tree.
They dug until the hole was just the right size.
Pierce loves to help and be involved.

I love these pictures of Grandpa and Pierce working together.

We need to give it lots and lots of water.

And the treat is....you get to ride to the barn.  Good job Pierce.  We will take good care of your tree.
Four months later...the tree has it's fall colors.
