Spring is in the air

Saturday was the perfect spring day.  Cool in the morning and then the sun came out and it was beautiful.  It puts you in the mood....My African Violets so needed to be re potted.  Once there were four .
And now there are six.  I so hope they live.  Anyone need an African Violet?
Then these pretty flowers jumped into my car at Lowe's.  I love it when that happens.

We ended the day with a lovely dinner with Liz at Hibiscus. What a way to spend a Saturday.  Thank you God for the day, thank you Liz for the wonderful evening.

Day off at Winter Park

After four wonderful days of skiing, we took a day off and it was perfect.  We woke up to beautiful snow and it snowed all day long.

Susan and Hal spent the afternoon putting this puzzle together.  They have way more patience than me.

Another Day in Paradise

Each day we wake up and can not believe the weather forecast.  Today we hit the slopes by 10:00 am and left at 4:00.  We just didn't want the day to end.
Some days everything just flows and today was one of them.  We were the only ones on the slopes and zero lift lines.

At one of our lifts, someone had built this igloo.  A lot of time on their hands.

Happy Birthday to Me

I just love spending my birthday in WP skiing.  No worries for Hal as to what to do, reservations to make, etc.  After 29 years for the Ingles and 9 for us we are still learning ways to simplify our trek to the slopes.  This year we learned to wear our snow shoes and found the wagon.  It's the little things in life!  The weather as been awesome...high's in the upper 30's to lower 40's, lots of sunshine, lots of snow and no crowds.  Since Monday, we have had the mountain to ourselves, thus the 17 runs today.  My legs are telling me all about it tonight.

We are always making fun of John and his "nose picker" skies.  Look how much longer they are they?
John, Susan and I took a break and had a beer while Hal got in 4 more runs!  It was just such a beautiful day to be outside.
Our little red wagon with all our stuff.
Another wonderful day in the Park.

Winter Park 2011

We made it to Winter Park for another year of fun in the snow.  We met up with Chris, Katie and Stella at Heck's at Devils Thumb for dinner and had a wonderful evening. Chris's Susan was not feeling well and could not join us.

There is a beautiful hexagon fireplace in the middle of the room that gave such ambience.

A lovely way to spend our first night in Winter Park.

Renewal at Casa

Each Wednesday night a group of us meet at our church for our Renewal meeting.  I've talked before about this very special group of people in my life, but I can't emphasize enough the meaning they add to my life.  We have had a few days of snow/ice and cold weather and did not meet last week.  This week the church was closed due to more bad weather, so we decided to just meet at Casa Milagro and share Christ there with each other.  Our group expanded as others joined us and we couldn't have been more delighted. In all there were 20 of us.
Ellen, Wilma (Ellen's mom), Pete (Ellen's brother) and Tom. Sorry Wilma we got you with your eyes closed.  You will just have to come again.
Emily and the boys, Preston, Garrett and Layton.
 All the above and me.
 Mary and Harry.
 Emily and Dwight.
 Kathy G and Bill.
 Susan and John.

Snow Day

We have had some very cold, icy and now snowy weather this week.  This is what we woke up to this morning. And it has continued to snow most of the day.  What a beautiful site.

While most people stayed inside and enjoyed the view looking out, others had to get out and really enjoy the moment and play Wiffle Ball....boys will be boys!  Keith and friends played Wiffle Ball at a park in our neighborhood and we had to go see it for ourselves.  Once we arrived, we discovered what it was really all about....
 This is home plate
Keith, playing First base, Short Stop, In Field, Out Field, Second Base...
And this is how the game is played.
