Atlanta / Savannah

Last weekend we went to Atlanta and took a side trip to Savannah.  Thursday evening we went to the Georgia Tech vs Virginia Tech football game with some of Chris and Melissa's friends and Melissa's dad, Bill and girlfriend Elizabeth.  It was a cold evening.  The temperature wasn't all that cold but the wind was strong.  It was a white out game so I borrowed Melissa's ski jacket.  I was actually pretty comfortable with my winter under armor shirt, ski turtleneck shirt, ski jacket w/liner, gloves and hat.

Friday morning we headed to Savannah.  Hal and I thought the scenery was pretty with the changing of the leaves.  Guess people in Georgia see tall trees with lots of leaves every day.  Melissa found a lovely place for us to have lunch, Soho South Cafe.  Everything in the restaurant was for sell even the soft and chairs we were sitting on waiting for our table.

After lunch we took a stroll down to River Street to walk off our lunch.  It was a beautiful fall day with the sun shining.  Not a lot of tourist but enough to make it lively.  We kept seeing brides everywhere and realized the date, 11-11-11.

While we were walking we noticed a roof top bar.  After all, it was time to have a glass of something.
My handsome husband and best friend....love you babe.
We stayed in different hotels so found our hotel, changed into our dinner clothes and off again for dinner at the Pink House.  They had a cozy bar area down stairs with a piano and a fire in the fireplace.  Very relaxing.

On Sunday Chris and Melissa made brunch for us and Trish, her mom.  After that......wedding dress shopping and Melissa looked beautiful.  Another fun weekend in Atlanta/Savannah...thank you!

Anna's First Halloween

I just love fall which means Halloween.  I usually decorate for Halloween but it just didn't happen this year.  This is one of my favorite times of the year.  The weather is warm during the day and cool in the evenings. We are still so far behind on rain that it's sad to see all the dead trees and shrubs that just didn't make the summer heat and drought.  We are fortunate that we had new drought and heat tolerant landscaping planted a couple of years ago and it looks beautiful.  If our neighborhood had a "Yard Of The Month" we would certainly qualify.

Anna is just a little young to enjoy all the festivities of Halloween.  We tried and she was a good sport.  We would take her to the door when the tricker treators would show up.  She just looked at them all cute.....
Next year!

We had so much fun with her that we forgot to get the door.  Good thing Keith and Elysse were there to answer the door and give out the candy!
