Play Date with Anna

We are tying to get some time with Anna before Bailey arrives so Anna will hopefully look forward to hanging out with GP & GM on a regular basis and give Keith and Elysse some quiet time.  Elysse is begining to really really show and I don't see how she bends over and picks up Anna.  Amazing!

Anyway before the play date Melissa came in town for work.  So we had Melissa for awhile, then off to dinner.  Then we had Anna for awhile.  Then Melissa and Anna.  And then, Melissa, Anna and Elysse.  We were having such a good time that Melissa, Hal and I stayed up past midnight drinking Tradition (Yum Yum) wine. For all that know me....that's way past my bedtime on a school night but worth every moment.
When it was just Melissa and Anna....we had a little entertainment.
Saturday morning, we picked up Anna and took her to our favorite breakfast spot, Cindi's.  On short notice, Susan and John joined us and so happy they did.  After breakfast we headed to North Park mall.  It was the perfect time to go...before all the shoppers arrived.  It was just us and the mall walkers so Anna could go anywhere she wanted.  You think grandma is having fun????
It didn't take Anna long to learn how to climb up and slide down just like the big kids.
She just couldn't understand why she couldn't get in the water and play with the turtles.
I think she's processing ways on how she can get around this obstacle of plants and get in that water!
OK, so I can't get in the water...I'll just play in the dirt.
Anna would walk for a while, ride for a while and ask to be carried for awhile.  I caught grandpa on the other side of the water fountain.  She was mesmerized by the fountain.

Another fun Saturday.  Can't wait for next week!

Weekend in San Augustine

A couple of weekends ago we went to San Augustine to visit Rod and Mollie and attend a talent show sponsored by San Augustine Women's Service League.  I think you have an idea of what kind of weekend we had.  It was filled with laughter, fun filled and pure joy to hang out with Rod and Mollie.  I miss them so.....
We all needed to get hooked up on Skype so we could communicate with each other....so we thought.  Poor Hal!  Trying to get us there was somewhat interesting to say the least.  Some of us had iPhones and others iPads.

This is Rod and Mollie's home sweet home in San Augustine.  Actually it's the house that Mollie and Nancy grew up in.  Rod and Mollie have updated it and it looks beautiful and feels so comfortable.
This is their view out back.
We all sat around out front for a while.  I love these pictures.  Can you see how relaxed we are?

That evening was the Talent show and Rod was one of the performers.

Easter Egg Prep w/Anna

Anna and Elysse came for dinner the other evening.  Keith was out of town because of work so couldn't join us.  I thought it would be a good idea to teach Anna how to hunt Easter eggs.  We got the Easter decorations down from the attic and she found the tubs of decorations.  She is just like a parrot now and repeats all your words and actions.  She caught on very quickly.
She would hide her eyes....kinda....
I would hide the eggs in obvious places and she would pick them up as soon as I placed them down.
Of course this activity didn't last long....she is almost 2...need I say more!  On to bigger and better things, like brushing your teeth or playing in the water. We would brush for a while and then play for awhile.

Now that we are totally drenched and it's been 30 minutes on to another activity...jumping!  This is her new thing now and of course...oh so cute!  She has learned "CHEEZE".  Thank you mommy. Look at all those teeth.
Thank you Sanders for this toy.  This has been a favorite.
Another fun evening with Anna wearing GP and GM out....and we loved every moment!
