Singapore 2009 - Last Day

Today is our last day here in Singapore and I'm so very sad.  We have had the best time and have so many memories to take with us.  One of the many joys was having Blake with us for several days.  Last night we went to the Orchid garden before dinner.  This is not your every day Orchid garden.  They have thousands of varities of orchids.

After dinner we headed to Orchard Road to play in the snow (soap suds).  What fun!

Blake had a business dinner after he had dinner with us.  Grandpa got to give Pierce his bath.  They were in there forever.  Wonder who was having all the fun????

Bye Singapore.  Bye Blake, Camille and Pierce.  Thank you for a wonderful Christmas and all the days prior to and following.
Love Grandma and Grandpa

Singapore 2009 - Take 2

This is the view outside Blake and Camille's condo. It's such a peaceful and lovely view each and every day.

We have had such a wonderful time and the kids are truly the best host and tour guides. Camille knows her way around the city so well and has never driven. She tells the taxi drivers the best way to get from here to there. And if you need a taxi, just ask Pierce....he loves to put two fingers in his mouth as though he's calling for a taxi.
One day we went to Vivo City, a shopping mall like you would not believe. It has everything including an outdoor water pool for kids and Grandpa's. Here Grandpa is changing Pierce into some dry clothes.

Last night we went to the marina where they have the "Wishing Balls". Hundreds of them light up in the water and one of the has Blake, Camille's and Pierce's 2010 wishes.

The Singapore Merlion.

Today was Pierce's first day back at school and he was ready to see his friends.

While Pierce was at school, mommy, Grandpa and Grandma went hiking in the jungles with monkeys and who knows what else was lurking in those woods.....

Grandpa wasn't so sure about this trip, but he forged ahead.

I'm not so sure Camille is going to like this one, but I'm sure she has many to reciprocate.
another wonderful day and I"m getting sad already as we leave tomorrow.

Singapore 2009

Vivi and Grand Dad gave Pierce 25 days of Christmas, so on day 17 when we arrived he opened dinasores that you paint and this is what you get.
Pierce has really grown in the last year and is such a good helper.

Pierce and Grandpa. They have become very good friends.

Hal and Camille hanging out at the pool waiting on Blake to get home.

Pierce and his Christmas present, an I Touch. He picked up on the concept very quickly, he is so smart.

Pierce and Camille look great for 5:00 am on our way to Vietnam.

A few hours later...

When Pierce woke up, he was ready for some juice.

Vietnam traffic was the craziest thing I've ever seen. 8M in Hoi Chi Mingh City and 4M motorcycles and a few wires.

We took a tour of the tunnels and I was caught off guard by my feelings.
Pierce loves taking pictures.
I just love this picture of Blake and Pierce
On our way to Hue, we stopped to streatch our legs. Pierce is doing his "Funny Face".

We are having a wonderful time here in Singapore and Vietnam. I can't believe that we will be going home soon.

Table by Hal, our new Martha Stewart

Last night K&E came over for dinner to celebrate Elysse’s birthday. I was busy baking, so Hal helped with setting the table….WOW, we have our very own Martha Stewart!

We had a lovely five course dinner thanks to Bruce (Elysse’s dad for providing the crab and Sockeye salmon). Not only do we have a Martha Stewart in the family, we have a Julia Childs. Elysse provided our 1st course of crab bisque and our 2nd course of crab cakes and they were fabulous. Our 3rd course was field of greens with strawberries, spiced pecans, blue cheese crumbles w/ a light vinaigrette dressing. The 4th course was Sockeye salmon, T-bone steaks w/garlic mashed potato casserole and rosemary bread. For dessert and the 5th course we had peanut butter pie. Hungry??? We were Stuffed!

Happy Thanksgiving 2009

I am thankful for God walking beside me through my valleys and guiding me through my faith journey and maturity. I am most thankful today for those serving to protect our country and pray for them and their families while they are away from their families each and every day.  Chris, Staci, Blake, Camille and Pierce, you were missed during all our festive activities.

As most of you know by now, Hal & I like to get a head start on a weekend, vacation or holiday. So we started our Thanksgiving holiday on Wednesday at lunch. One of Pierce’s favorite foods is Chicken Satay. So in honor of Pierce we went to Mango’s for lunch.

Thurday we headed to College Station for first, the Cowboy game and them A&M vs Texas.  What an awesome game Aggies.  You made us proud!

Friday was an R&R day. Took a stroll in the neighborhood, took a nap and went to the Rocket's game. Had   a lovely dinner and wine in the suite prior to the game. Elysse the pinball queen.

Love that Yum Yum!
