Asher's First Birthday Pary

We typically get to celebrate Pierce's birthday when Blake and Camille are home for the holidays and so excited we got to have Asher's 1st birthday party this year.  Grand kids....it's what brings us all together as family and I just love that.  Vivi and Granddad hosted the big day and they always do it in style.  There was so mcuh food, fun and entertainment as you can just imagine.
Our Birthday Boy!
The weather was perfect to have this event outdoors and Vivi had it decorated so sweet.
Those are little buckets are hanging from burlap.  There were bubbles (Anna's favorite) for each kid...amazing!
Entertainment for everyone.

Great idea with the frame.  We all have many of those around.

We were all so thrilled that Sam was in town to join the fun.
 Nanna of course was there.
Vivi took a minute out of preparing and serving us to get some Asher time.
Grandpa didn't want to let go of Bailey.
This sweet boy smiles from the moment he wakes up until the moment he gently lays his head down at night.  Someone who truly enjoys life!

You can tell these women are such dear friends.

We all know that KW is probably up to no good with whispering who knows what.
Another couple who loves life and shows it every day.  What a gift to each other.
I didn't get all of Shelly's kids as they were having such fun, but here is the youngest and just adorable.
Boys will be boys and their toys.
I think this is such a sweet picture of Julie and Vicki.
Can you tell the theme of the party was balls?

Bailey is wrapped up in there somewhere.  Such a trooper she is.  Goes with the flow.
 Full of love and happiness.
This is Camille's grandmother and she is a lovely lady.  Great Grand mama I believe is what she's called.
Dale finally takes a moment to sit and relax and enjoy some time with the birthday boy.  Although Asher's eyes are looking like he is ready for a nap and winding down from the sugar rush.
Happy Birthday Asher we love you!

Logan Bradley Douglas

My heart is full of joy and I'm so very happy and excited to share that we have another grandchild in our family...
LOGAN BRADLEY DOUGLAS
Arrived Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 4:07 EST
weighing 3 lbs, 3 oz
18.5 long
31 weeks and 5 days

Melissa had what seemed a very easy pregnancy early on and then complications began and she spent the last few days at home and in the hospital on bed rest.  Always feeling pretty good, but the doctors weren't liking results from her sonograms.  Please visit Logan's blog and follow their story at
lbdjourney.blogspot.com.  I'm so thankful Melissa is taking the time to share with us the progress Logan is making each day.

I've patiently waited for this sweet little boy and I can't wait to hold him in my arms and tell him how much grandma loves and adores him.

Logan holding on to Chris's finger.
We love you Logan.  We pray for you each day that you get stronger.

Granny Camp 2013

It's been so long since I've blogged that it's a little overwhelming as to "where to begin".  So looking back through my files I found this year's Granny Camp.  Because of our short time with the Asian family this year's Granny Camp included Camille and Asher.  Anna wasn't in town so she couldn't join us.  Soon we will have them all together.

Our theme this year was nature.  Because of our new home labeled "The Farm" we thought farm animals and nature would work well.  The Heard Natural Science Museum and Wildlife Sanctuary was the perfect place for us.  We got our hats and ready to go.

Again, this place was just perfect.  It was close to home.  Trees covered the paths.  It was nice and quite and not crowded.  Perfect!

Pierce is very smart.  He was telling us about the Ammonites.  GP and I weren't too sure about the information he was giving us....but sure enough it was all true.
There are several trails you can take.  We chose the Hoot Owl Trail.
Pierce is a great reader and loves to read.  So he would give us the scoop of what we were seeing.

 Love this sweet picture.
There are some really big and old trees in this park.  Can't you just imagine climbing this tree?
This was a little misleading....Animals of the World.  It's more like 4 animals.
But we stopped and saw them all.

It took some coaxing to get this picture but I sure love it.
We took this for Julie and KW for the new "bee keeping hobby"....really???
 Look at that sweet face.
A great day at the museum.
We were hot and tired and ready for the pool when we got home and could enjoy some time with Asher and Camille.

Another successful Granny Camp!  What a joy for us.
