Family weekend pictures

We have had a fun filled week and weekend with Anna.  While Hal and Keith continue to work on the fence, I get to have some Anna time.....

Friday night Keith and Elysse invited us out for dinner.  Love they are so close.....We went to Gloria's and it was a happening place.  There was a little wait so we (Elysse and I) thought outside would be just fine....I'm not so sure the guys agreed.

While we were just hanging out, Hal received a call from Blake in Singapore.  I love technology!  Blake has been on a marathon working schedule.  We so miss Blake, Camille and Pierce and very thankful for Skype!  But there is nothing like getting your arms around those you love.

Anna pretty much loves to eat and sleep at this age.
Saturday night was a great night...baby sitting and cowboys football...life is grand!  It wasn't soon after mom and dad dropped off Anna that she took a little nap

Kitty is always intrigued when Anna arrives.  Making sure she knows Kitty is here to stay.
During our baby siting time, we got to Skype Camille and Pierce, Blake was at work.  We didn't get a good snap shot of Pierce but I did check out Camille's blog and found these pics of Pierce and thought they were perfect for the weekend.  Pierce is having a Garage Sale...

You can check out Camille's blog at http://dentonnews.blogspot.com/ for all the details.
It's time for Anna to eat and then....
 nap time again....Go Cowboys!
Sunday , while some of us where just staying inside napping to avoid the heat...others were checking off their Bucket List! I wake up from my Sunday afternoon nap and get a message from Chris to check out Face Book..OK...it took me two seconds to run to my pc to find out what's going on...this is what I learn.  He and Melissa decided to go sky diving...!!!!

Julie and KW....what did you do for the weekend?
I love my family and very thankful to God for placing those in my life.
Hal and I are BLESSED!!!!

Robin Mark Weekend

We are so blessed to have Robin Mark come to our church for two nights of concert and Sunday worship.  He is an amazing worship leader, song writer and person.  We had a nice turnout for the Saturday night concert.  Afterwards those that play in the band, Robin and others come over to the house for some down time and pizza.  Robin is feeling comfortable enough in our home to know where the plates and beer are kept.  I just love that!  Sunday evening Small Groups ate together and then most of us went on to the concert.  It was a very intimate group and Robin was extra special in sharing more deeply how and why he wrote the songs he sang.  His new CD, Fly, will not be out until October but when it does come out, I highly recommend getting it.
Robin is so gracious that he lets members from our church and other church Praise Teams back him up.  This helps with our cost.  Marvin is on the left and Emily one of the singers is from Grace Presby. and Tom, Mollie, Ellen and Sarah are from CCPC and Dave on drums worships at a Bible Fellowship church.  It is always nice to see and hear this group come together to share their gifts.
Hal, Harry and Andy work the video and audio for the concert and do a great job.

Coming Out Brunch for Anna

We have waited for the six weeks to pass so that Anna could come out and play.  So Sunday after church we had a little brunch to introduce her to some dear friends.  Elysse has the other pictures but she is on her way to Midland w/Anna for another Sip N See party so this is all I have for now.
Mollie, Liz and SuAnne....what a great picture of you ladies.
Herb and Hal acting like they like each other.

It's a little ironic as Karen and Tim took their Anna to U of Arkansas this weekend and then came to meet the new Anna in our lives.
Margaret just returned from Cambridge, UK visiting their grandson.  Margaret looks very comfortable holding sweet Anna.
Anna slept the whole time she was passed around for person to person.  I'm sure that's not the way it will always be, but she was a sweet little angel Sunday.

Our First Baby Sitting Opportunity!

Hal and I have been waiting on this this day patiently...so we think.  Finally Keith & Elysse had some place to go without Anna.  I think Elysse was a little nervous about leaving Anna, but they were only 5 minutes away and we promised to give Elysse updates via texting through the evening.  It was very sweet and cute.  It's pretty easy at this age and we did just fine...all of us.

John and Susan stopped by after their dinner celebrating there 46th anniversary.  It was a very special evening for many of us.

Anna's First Trip to Costco

Almost every Saturday morning Hal and I have breakfast at Cindi's Deli.  Most times Susan and John meet us there, whether we ride our bikes or drive over.  Any more the hostesses just ask us "how many".  I love that!   This Saturday during breakfast we text K&E to see if they wanted anything from Costco and they text back wanting to meet us there.  Always need diapers these days.....Hal dropped me off at the door so he could fill up his car with gas, later I realized his alternative motive....he would get Anna!  Grandpa and Anna found me, but I was left with the cart of stuff while grandpa strutted around Costco with Anna in the stroller.

Maggie's visit to Texas

Our niece Maggie graduated from high school this year and will attend U of Alabama this fall.  We thought she needed to make a visit to Texas before her life became too busy for us. Her flight from Houston was delayed due to weather, but she finally arrived.
The first day, uncle Hal and Maggie toured Dallas.
First stop, the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, John F. Kennedy Memorial and the old red Court House.
I was so happy Hal got a picture of the new bridge in the background that goes no where.

In 1932, Magnolia Petroleum Company erected a large "oil derrick" on the roof that supported two 30 by 50 foot red neon signs that were in the image of Pegasus, the flying red horse, to celebrate the coming of the American Petroleum Institute's annual meeting, held in Dallas for the first time.

Pegasus was the corporate logo for Magnolia. Mobil, as a part of Exxon Mobil Corp. still uses the logo today. Pegasus guided people traveling in those days to Dallas and many claimed that it could be seen 75-miles away on a clear night. The two red horses were located 14 feet apart and revolved. Pegasus instantly became the landmark symbol for the City of Dallas and remained one of the most striking features of the Dallas skyline.

For many years the sign was the highest element within blocks, but by 1974 it had quit revolving. In 1977, Mobil moved their headquarters out of downtown and the sign and building were given to the City of Dallas.

Lunch at Smashburgers....By the time they arrived at their lunch destination, they were starving.
Aaron Sanders, Kathy & Jerry's son,  was so sweet and set up a tour of the Meyerson Symphony Center.
That evening we went to one of our favorite Italian restaurants, Venezia.
We really love this restaurant these days as Keith, Elysse and Anna live just around the corner so we stopped by on our way home to visit them....ok...see Anna since I didn't get a picture of Keith & Elysse.
Friday I sent them to Fort Worth for the running of the herd (actually it was the walking of a few very tired old long horn cows). It sounded fun when reading about it on the Internet.
I love this picture of Maggie.

They had lunch at Sundance Square, Pot Bellys to be exact.  They couldn't find the Thai restaurant I suggested.  It was silly to go to FW for Thai anyway.  While they were downtown they decided to go inside the Bass Music Hall.  We just love this venue. It's a great concert hall.

Moving on to get some culture at the Kimbell Museum and Modern Art Museum.

Enough culture...let's go see Jerry World, AKA Death Star, AKA Cowboy Stadium.  Maggie looks to tiny in this picture.

I will think of this picture every time the Cowboys have a press conference this fall.
After a very long day, Keith, Elysse and Anna came over for dinner.  Can't believe I didn't get any pictures.  The next morning we drove to Houston to visit Julie, KW and Lauren.
This is a statue of Sam Houston in Huntsville.  Such a large statue on the side of the road.
Julie had the table set so beautifully and inviting.  We swam for a while and then actually ate dinner outside.  Sure wouldn't be doing that in Dallas this time of year.
Lauren invited a couple of friends over for dinner.  L-R, Alex, Katelyn, Maggie, Lauren and John (Lauren's boyfriend).
Someone thought it would be a good idea to play train.  How many Aggies does it take to get one full deck of dominoes for a game of train?
Now more people are showing up..Grab a chair and join the fun.  We played until 1:00 in the morning listening to Michel Jackson...what fun. BTW, I came in second!
We all decided to sleep in Sunday and attend the later worship service.  Here Julie, Maggie and KW look all refreshed from the long night before.

We are saying our goodbyes to Maggie and leaving her in good hands with Julie and KW.  We had a wonderful time with you Maggie and hope you will come back and see us.
