Searching for Kitty Toys

Kitty is not just your run of the mill kitty, she is very smart! She loves to play fetch. So you get a two-fer, cat/dog. We throw the foams balls up the steps and she chases them down. We do this over and over and over. However, sometimes we run out of little balls. So far I have purchased over 48 balls and today we have 4. We go hunting throughout the house, searching for balls. Kitty is right there with me, but little help. Pet’s Mart here we come!

North Texas Cursillo 10 Year Reunion

This past weekend, North Texas Cursillo celebrated its’ 10 years with a reunion. It started off on Friday night with a family dinner followed by Mexican Train. The event was held at Spring Park club house and the evening could not have been more beautiful. Dwight Nichols provided the pulled pork which was outstanding!

On Saturday, some of us played golf in the 2nd Annual George Platt Memorial Tournament while others met at the church and participated in a multitude of activities. Saturday we reconvened for dinner and the closing program which was unveiled in the typical Cursillo style. I so appreciate all the planning, coordination and work that went into the weekend. Thank you Lil, all the Music Chas, Table Chas, Rollo givers and most certain God for the opportunity of participating.

2nd Annual George Platt Golf Tournament

Saturday was the 2nd Annual George Platt Golf Tournament. Last year our team came in last. Not only in score, but time wise. This year we were determined not to let that happen, so we called in a “ringer” Jason McMurtrey. Seriously, Hal’s shoulder just couldn’t handle 18 holes and Jason was kind enough to get up early for a 8:00 tee time. The early morning (6:30) started with a light drizzle, by 7:30 the clouds broke and by tee time, it was a beautiful glorious God gifted day! We came in 5 under, hungry, sunburned and very proud. Head Down....Head Down....Head Down is what our coach continued to share with us.
So cute!
Thank you Jason for golfing with the Denton's

This was not our first sand trap or water trap of the day
Seriously???

Azaleas just like Tyler....not so much

Hal and I took a 12 mile ride around Breckenridge Park after work, came home and relaxed on the patio. I looked up and for the first time saw my azaleas. I love my back yard and we so enjoy just hanging out there, but my azaleas don't look like Tyler's. WE'LL work on that, added to the list. This is a favorite time of year for me. I love to be outside, I love the warm days and the cool evenings, I love getting some exercise after a day of being inside and I love viewing all of God's glorious creations.

Visit from Chris

Hal’s birthday weekend has been filled with many memories and time spent w/friends and family. A special treat was having Chris here for a few hours.
This lazy rainy afternoon was delightful as we spent the time with my dad, Chris, Elysse and Keith…better than a nap! It has been a great weekend for me and I hope each of you have enjoyed God’s love and grace in your weekend.

See you in a month sweetheart, I love you! Mom

Happy Birthday Babe & New Found Friends

Hal’s birthday is Sunday and I had such a good time planning a little get-a-way for him. We left Friday afternoon and headed towards Tyler.
Checked into our B&B, Woldert-Spence Manor B&B in Tyler ( I highly recommend this B&B). After check in we headed off to Rose Rudmond Park for a little bike ride. As usually, we got “misguided” and the 3 mile ride turned into a 6+ mile ride and it was beautiful.
Afterwards met my sister and BIL (Loretta & Greg) for a very nice dinner out on a patio, beautiful evening.

Love you Sis

During the quite morning on Saturday, we headed off to the Azalea District. OMG how beautiful….

We met some new friends while staying at the B&B

Me, Janey, Can, Mike, Sue, Mike & Gail...you touched my heart more than you will know. Thank you for helping to make our weekend so very special and I hope we continue our "conversations"....Gail is a writer...remember this is a "blog" not a novel but can't wait  to read yours..

Time to pack up and leave but oh no.... my first flat…what shall we do???? Unload the bikes, get out the instruction book....Hal can “fix it !”
We arrived at Zip Line Adventures and what a beautiful vista.  Shelly and Greg recommended this adventure and it is/was worth the time and money.
NOW WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DO????  ARE YOU SURE????
LOVE YOU BABE...ABSOLUTELY!!!!  IT WILLBE FUN!

Here we go................

Hope you had as much fun as I did.  Happy Birthay Babe!

Wedding shower for Karen & Jeremy

Saturday night we helped host a wedding shower for Karen & Jeremy (Litton). Their wedding is June 5th and we are so excited for them.

It’s always risky to hold an event outside this time of year, but the evening could not have been more lovely.
Jean & Andy Raub opened their beautiful home for the event….and it was beautiful.

Joys of Renewal Group

Each Wednesday I meet with a group of people, Renewal Group, we call it. It's an accountability group were you share your joys, concerns, study for the week, how you shared Christ with others and your closest moment to Christ. These people are very dear to my heart. I’m not a big talker, many times my time is short and sweet, yet it’s a powerful time for me.
Over the years we have experienced parents death, friends leave us, kids join us, and kids growing up. This Wednesday night we celebrated Austin Nichols 18th birthday….Happy Birthday Austin

Easter Sunday

Our Easter weekend was filled with everything you could imagine.

When Sunday arrived, we were ready for the day. Went to the gym before worship (9:00) and then SS. Came home, changed and headed to TLC, True Love Christian Church. I’ve talked about this church before and how we have fallen in love with their joy and spirit. We met Tony and Zella at our last Cursillo. It was my joy, honor, pleasure to pray for Zella and her weekend at Cursillo. I had no idea what joy I would experience when I met her.
TLC allowed us to serve them Easter lunch and we all experienced the presence of Christ.
The room was decorated so festive.

I cannot begin to articulate how I felt Sunday afternoon.  Having the opportunity to sit down and have lunch and get to know some of these people was incredible.  I learned alot and met alot of very honest Christ filled people. Thank you TLC!

Happy Easter

It's Easter weekend and spring is in the air.  Easter always brings a sense of joy, excitement and change of seasons.  It's a time of reflection on priorities in your life and who you really belong to.
Hal and I stopped by dad and Elizabeth's today and what a joy it was to see them and give them a hug.  We love you very much.
