Lights, Camera and Action

Last week American Heart Association and AMS Pictures made a training film in our backyard.  It all started out having our Small Group over to help get settled in our new home.  After we worked for a while, we took a break and hung out by the pool.  It was then that Margaret, who works for AMS, mentioned her company was looking for a pool for a photo shoot.  After showing the pictures to the Scout, they became interested in filming a child safety training film.  They asked if we would be interested, we said yes, they said yes and last Monday many people started appearing at our home around 6:45 am.  It was a very interesting process and I'm amazed at how many people it takes and how many hours it takes.  The first day they stayed until almost 8:00 PM. This is what it looked like.
If you look closely you can see a white truck way down the street, that's our home.  This is as close as we could park to our home.
This is looking the other way down the street.  And even more cars on the side streets.
The black piece of equipment is the generator that ran all their electrical equipment.
 Trucks and all their stuff.
 More stuff.
This is the little boy actor.  When he wasn't filming he was in the pool playing.  He's only 3 1/2 or 4 years old.
 They brought their own sun.
 And their own shade.
More stuff on the barn patio.
Seems like there is a lot of down time in this business.
 Everyone has their job.
This tent was set up to house the writers and AHA people.  They validated all the scenes where begin performed correctly according to the process and procedures.
The actor mom (in the blue blouse) and dad (in the red shirt) are getting their instructions from the director (in black t-shirt).  Real mom (in the black dress w/feet in the pool) was keeping the little boy occupied until it was his turn.

Getting him in position for the shoot.
Need to get his shoes on, however need to put green tape on the logo on the bottom of the shoe so the logo doesn't show up.
Mom getting the shoes on quickly while director gives a little pep talk.

They came back on Tuesday morning, same time around 6:45 am.  Finished filming the pool scene and then moved to the front yard and filmed the EMS, fire truck and police car action shots.
And that's a WRAP!

July 4th Celebration

We have a new venue to watch fireworks for July 4th celebration and now it's even closer to our home.  We have some premo seats at Breckenridge Park so we get the full experience of the lights and sounds.  We were bummed that Chris and Melissa could not join us this year.  They were in town, but LBD was giving Melissa a headache she just couldn't shake.  Good reason.  The Starne's and Hodge's were attending Triennium so our attendance was much smaller.  We still had a great time.  These little boys have grown so much they really aren't little anymore.  They are certainly sweet.
Grandpa....He isn't going to like this picture.  Can you tell he has just spent the last 2 weeks moving to our new home?
I don't think I've ever seen John throw a ball before.  He has all granddaughters!  But some of them love sports.
Margaret, the always cheerful full of life person!  You are the best girlfriend and you make the best baked beans EVER!
We count on Jerry to bring the flag to the celebration.  And now we count on the kids to keep us honest and let us know when it's time to take it down....after dark.
It was just a year ago that Susan had her knee surgery...no problems now.
Kids enjoying the simple pleasures of life...a Popsicle.
The weather was just lovely for July 4th.  There was a slight breeze and rain the week before so the grass wasn't crunchy.  And such a beautiful sunset.
Mom and daughter...sweet.  I'm really happy Emily joins us for this occasion.  We get to see her and the boys.
Jerry is trying to teach the boys some game.  Can't remember what it was.
Another fun evening with friends.

Anna Two Years Old

I seriously don't know how Elysse does it!  They sold a home, purchased a home, packed and moved and had a birthday party and have a very busy 2 year old and little tiny baby!  It was a lovely day.
Anna was taking a nap when we arrived so Harriett had to wake her up and get her dressed in her party dress.  She was a little confused as to why all these people were in her house and making a fuss over her.  Didn't take her long to get command of the situation.  This is a new look for Anna.  Not sure what it's about.
She is a bubble girl.  Just don't let the bubble maker have a noise to it.  She's not into motor noises.

We had bubble makers of all kinds and sizes.

Bailey is such a trooper.  She is definitely a go with the flow baby.

Here Anna is in her element....has all her peps around her.
GiGi trying to figure out how to operate this bubble maker.

This is a sweet picture of Grandpa Jim and Bailey.  She looks to tiny in his arms.
Nanna showing Anna how to blow bubbles.
I think she has the hang of it.
Now grandpa is trying to figure out how this bubble maker works.
Anna has a thing about dress up.
Daddy has yet another bubble maker.
This is just the sweetest picture of mother and daughter.
The men just hanging out on the porch watching the activities.
It's time to open presents.  Anna wasn't too sure about this one.

This is the perfect outfit for her new kitchen.
Daddy likes what was in the black bag. It's a horse that Nanna gave her.
We got her the tricycle.  She's a little short for it but I'm sure it won't be long before she can reach.
 I got some Bailey time.
Elysse's  cousin (I forget her name) gave Anna this neat floor piano.
Anna wasn't too sure about a flame coming out of her cupcake .

Take the candle away and she is all over it.
Happy birthday sweet girl.  Grandma loves you.
