This class session we will learn:

Monday Night Small Group

Last night our Small Group met at the Sander’s. It’s always fun for us bc they have little ones running around to remind us of the joy and innocence of children.

Everyone was there with exception of Margaret who wasn’t feeling well. I wished I knew how to Photo Shop her in.

We had a lovely dinner and fellowship catching up on everyone’s lives. During dessert, we discussed homosexuality in the church, the 11th dimension in relation to religion and I think even added some politics. Who says we don’t study??? The wonderful thing about our Small Group is that we can discuss these topics freely and at the close of the evening gather around in a circle holding hands and pray for one another knowing that we may not always agree but will always agree to respect one another. Love each of you dearly.

Jeanne & Mike visit

We stopped by the Ingle’s to visit with Jeanne & Mike (Susan’s sister and brother-in-law) during their stay. It’s always a joy to see them and get caught up on their lives as we live vicariously through them, from Michigan, Tucson, Turks & Caicos and all points in between. We shared a bottle of Domaine Leflaive Puligny Montrachet from the William’s cellar.

Mike, Jeanne and Emily Dierks

The Dierks, less Meredith, stopped by for dinner. Emily entertained us playing the piano and just being Emily.
A very fun evening….And the Cowboys won Ya-Hoo!

Debi and Billy's wedding reception

Last night we were honored to be invited to Debi and Billy's wedding reception. We had a wonderful evening of dancing, eating and drinking.  One thing I have to mention here is that Debi made and decorated all the tables and the wedding cakes. Everything was so beautiful.

John & Liz BD Party

We celebrated John and Liz's birthday last night.  Liz has been traveling, go figure, and John was serving at Cursillo when his birthday occured.  We gathered at one of our favorite BYOW resturants and finished at John and Susan's for dessert and a short game of Mexican Train.

John's new favorite beverage, Bailey's with caramel

I can only hope to look as beautiful, be as gracious and fun loving as Liz.

Can't have a BD party with out a cake and song......

Spring Park Rocks

Last night our Spring Park neighborhood had a community concert with Joe Jonas, Anson Funderburgh and Friends band. It was a sold out (125) event. The evening was a blast. It was a byob and snacks if you wanted. Hal and I even dance.  Hal recognized the keyboard player, Christian.  He played wtih Robin Banks who played at Chris and Staci's reception at Fire Wheele.  Small world.

Me and Joe Jonas.  We asked if he knew WC Clark from Austin and he said "of course".  They have the same style and love for blues.

The group has recently played at HOB in Dallas. There were some locals that got up and thought they were really good, it was pretty comical.

Love my Small Group

I believe our Small Group is very special.  We missed last week getting together because so many of us were sick...YUK!  So those of us that could, got together last night for a meal.  Nothing special, other than gathering together for a meal and yet it was so very special.  There was no purpose, no agenda, just hanging out with some very dear friends talking about our day.

Our server.  I need to get his name as he always takes such good care of us, including taking pictures.  Karen and Tim are some of the most interesting people I have ever met.  You name it and they have done it...for real!  They are so sweet and Tim totally cracks me up!

Friday Night Football

If you live in Texas, it's all about Friday Night High School Football.
Pre football night!

Hal and I had a "free" night so needed to find something to do.  Our church has several kids that participate in playing football or playing in the band so we and the "gang" decided to go check it out.

We don't do anything without nurishment and there's nothing better than a good burger

Kevin, Susan, John, Harry, Margaret, me, Hal and Mary
The weather could not have been more beautiful for a fall evening, especially after the last few days/weeks that we have had of rain and cloudy skies.  It's 60 with no wind and no humidity, PERFECT!

High school bands are so good

Renewal Group

This is my Renewal Group. From (L-R), Kathy, Susan, John, Ellen, Emily, Mary and Kathy.  Missing are Kevin, Harry, Tom and Mollie.
We meet each and every Wednesay afternoon at our church.
This group was formed after a Cursillo weekend of which we have all attended at one point in time.  It's an accountability group to further our relationship with Christ and each other (community).  We share what we have studied for the week, our clossest moments to Christ, how we have shared Christ with others and what we are thankfull for. We end our time together with our joys and concerns.  This group has witnessed many ups and downs in our personal lives.  There is trust among us.  There is no judgement among us.  There is only grace and forgiving among us.  I love each one of these people dearly and individually they have impacted my life.

Action Packed Saturday

Yesterday was an action packed Saturday and loved every minute of it. We started the day with breakfast at our favorite place, Cindi’s.

Our first stop was to celebrate Ben and Pat Beltzer’s 50th wedding anniversary in Flower Mound. We did not realize it, but they never had a wedding. The kids made up for that and the house was decorated in the most tastefully way. And one of the daughters who is a chef made the most decadent desserts you could ever image. At 3:00 when Ben rang the bell, all the kids, grandkids and guest were to gather out on the patio that was decorated for the occasion for Ben and Pat to renew their vows. Hal and I were so disappoint to miss that special occasion. Ben and Pat are very special to us and we are happy they are back in the DFW area.
Tom and Ellen were there to help celebrate wtih us.

The patio and back yard was decorated so beautifully

Ben, Pat and me...Happy 50th Anniversay

Baby Amelie will have a few things to start off with

Boot Camp Night Out

Tonight the Boot Camp girls and guys, their husbands and kids got together. Thank you Claudia and Steve for opening your beautiful home to us all.

These girls have a special place in my heart. We (most of us, I have been a slacker the last few weeks!) meet each week day morning between 5:30 AM and 6:00 AM. We share our lives while on the treadmill for an hour or so. We have gone through the death of a parent and a lifelong friend. We have walked beside each other while a family member or friend endures chemo/radiation. We share the joys and new experiences of our kids/grandkids. When we don’t show up, someone is emailing or texting you. These women love one another without makeup, with unaboob bras and dripping wet with sweat at the end of our workouts. I call these women and men my very dear friends!

Lvonne has to put up with us on Fridays. By this time of the week the class has usually dwindled down to the hard core group.

I'm looking forward to another evening out!

Ten Year Engagement Anniversary

Today is Hal and my ten year Engagement Anniversary. We remember the evening well. I was living in Austin and Hal in Dallas. It was his turn to make the trek to Austin. I made plans for us to go out on Lake Travis on our favorite pontoon boat (Pumpkin) for the evening. As usually, we had our smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers with crackers and wine of course.  We made our usually tour around the lake and then found a peacefully cove to anchor. The evening was beautiful, light warm breeze and a full moon. We went for a swim, had dinner and was enjoying the beautiful night.

And then he asked….Will You Marry Me?

And then I said….Absolutely YES!

Tonight we celebrated at Venezia. One of our favorite Italian restaurants. It’s a BYOW. Thanks to KW and Julie we took a 2006 Domaine Leflaive Puligny Montrachet
Looking forward to another 10 years my love.
