CM Cooking Class

Hal had a jammed packed birthday weekend.
Wednesday Bailey arrived, Thursday was Hal's birthday (a big one.....), Friday we went to Zac Brown concert, Saturday morning we ran a 5 K race and Hal came in 1st in his division and Saturday evening we attended a cooking class.  It's just like me to over schedule but it keeps us young.....
We each had an opportunity to "help" prepare our dinner and the menu was, grilled steak, spinach souffle, Yorkshire pudding, shoestring potatoes, salad and molten lava cake....yum.

We had a fun group at the class.
Carol and her husband were a blast.

 The visiting chef.
Hal's salad presentation.  We each made our own salad....Over Achiever.....

I will check CM's cooking class schedule and sign us up for another class.
And did I mention that when we arrived home we went next door to celebrate Daniel's birthday.whew!!! I'm ready for Sunday!

5K Lung Race

For the past couple of years Hal and I have ran in the Bonnie J Addario Lung Cancer 5K race. It's held down in the Turtle Creek  Rivercheon area and it's just beautiful.  This year we questioned ourselves as to what we were thinking signing up for the race as we had not trained at all this year.
Here were are getting ready for the moment.
Daryl, Sheri, Elizabeth and dad.  Our cheer leading section.
 Big smiles before the race.
The weather was perfect.  Sunny and 65 warming up to 75.
Hal came in 1st in his division.  Helps that he turned 65 on Thursday.  Way to go babe.  So proud of you and thankful you go along with all my planning.  I'll do better next year.

Bailey Lynn Denton

This has been an exciting week.  Elysse had a doctor appointment on Tuesday morning, April 16th, and was told she was close.  Wednesday as we were getting ready for work we received a call from Keith asking if one of us could come stay with Anna.  I threw my clothes on and ran out the door with wet hair.  Anna and I, well at least grandma, had the best day.  It was just the two of us.  We had some breakfast, went to gymboree, out for lunch at Corner Bakery and home for a nap....both of us.  After our nap we headed to the hospital to meet little sister, Bailey.  I love how the hospitals let any and everyone visit at the same time.  It was one happy room filled with love.

Pre Bailey Arrival

We have had the joy of having Anna while Keith & Elysse get ready for Bailey's arrival, purchase a new home and prepare and sell their current home.  Elysse is one busy girl.

The day was beautiful so we went out side.  When Pierce was just a little older than Anna and was visiting he was really into digging for worms.  Well Anna not so much worms but she does love the dirt. The cute little dress she had on was a little dirty by the time she was finished.
Again like Pierce, Anna enjoys the iPhone, iTouch, iPad.  Anything that will let her watch Yo Gabba Gabba.
I've mentioned before that Anna isn't a shoe girl, meaning she doesn't like to wear her shoes but she likes to try on your shoes.
This is the one and only good picture we have of Elysse with the big ol'e belly and even at that she is smiling and looking so radiant. This was taken Sunday before Bailey arrived on Wednesday.

Update on our Asian kids

Several have asked what's going on in S. Korea.  As you can imagine with a 6 year old and a 8 month old...there is a lot going on.  Camille is getting out and meeting people as she does so well.  Making S. Korea their new home for now.  Blake is working hard as always keeping the ship building on schedule while keeping close tabs on what's going on in N. Korea.  Quite the challenges he has.

They celebrated Easter a little different than in past years only because they had so much to do, time differences, etc.
Here are the "boys" dressed up in their Easter t-shirts w/ties.  Very clever!
We sent Pierce some Chi Pet type things and flowers in an Easter egg to watch grow.  Good job Pierce growing the grass.
This was the families first 5K race in S Korea.

Camille has posted a few pictures of the spring season with the cherry blossoms in full bloom.  Absolutely beautiful.
 Look at those two teeth.
I just love this picture of Pierce.  Cool looking dude.  Getting so grown up.
Asher is always smiling.  One happy boy.
As you can tell these pictures of Asher are a while ago, but had to share them.

Miss you and love you dearly!

Easter 2013

I just love holidays and Easter is one of my favorites.  It's spring time, the trees and flowers are in bloom and the weather is turning nice enough to get outside.  You have the Lenten season preparing your heart for the very special Sunday.  And then in church on Easter Sunday, the pews are filled and I love that feeling in our church sanctuary.  Passing the Peace of Christ takes about 15 minutes to get us seated there are so many people you want to give that special hug.....just love it!

We picked Anna up Friday night and she was all ready with her overnight bag.  It was Keith and Elysse's 5 year anniversary so they were going to a moooovie (as Pierce would called it and GP and I still do).  We headed to Willowbend for an evening of running around a mall.  We stopped at the play area and she was in heaven.  It won't be long before it will be difficult to get her to leave that place.

Saturday was the big Easter egg extravaganza at the church.  It's so much easier being the grandparents than parents at these events and for the kids....look what you get to do!
First was "The Story" told by Stacy.  Kids of all ages gathered around to listen.  See the brother and sister on the left with their arms around each other?
Anna thinks she might join them.  It's looking interesting.
She is making sure we aren't going anywhere.
Circling the pack.  Look at that smile...she is very pleased with herself.
Off to arts and crafts.  First stop was making butterflies...Susan I thought you would have taken on this project.
Next John and Susan were helping us make wind socks.

There were thousands of eggs out there just waiting for us.
But we had to wait our turn.  You see those steps?  We climbed up and down, up and down, up and down.
Nothing in our basket but shoes.  Anna is not a shoe girl.  I can't wait to introduce her to DSW!
The musicians were practicing and Anna loved the drums and organ.  She even mimicked David who was leading the musicians....it was pretty cute.
 OK...it's time.
 On your mark, get set....ready....GO!
We have practiced this process the last couple of weeks but the competitive spirit has not kicked in yet.

She eye spied the playground....way more fun than picking up eggs off the ground...hurry GM.
Easter Sunday Keith and Elysse came by for a visit.  So sweet to include us on this special day.

I hope all our kids and their families had a joyous Easter season.
Much love to each of you....where ever you are, you are in our hearts each and every day.
