Welcome Home-Blake, Camille and Pierce (Saturday)

Saturday was planned with a full day of activities and everyone did very well.  Grandpa could hardly wait to take Pierce for a ride in his car.  Too cute!

Then we headed to Willow Bend Mall.  A place for last minute shopping before mommy and daddy heads off to Maui for a few days.  Oh they are so excited.  Lucky Vivi and Grand Dad get to spend some quality time with Pierce and they are in for a treat as he has changed so much since Christmas when we last saw him.
It's kinda like, Where is Waldo????? or Where is Pierce????? in the sea of kids at the play area at the mall.
Back home for a long nap and off we go to Addison Park for the evening.  We began the evening at the water park.

I saw the above pose quite often this weekend along with many other very cute facial expressions, hand gestures and of course telling us all about it.  So very cute.
After the water park, we headed back to the jazz concert for some music, dinner and just family fun.  What a lovely evening.

Welcome Home-Blake, Camille and Pierce (Friday)

Blake, Camille and Pierce came home from Singapore last Tuesday and are here visiting us this weekend. I could hardly stand myself Friday waiting for their arrival. Pierce loves jets so GP shared the Top Gun movie experience with yet another generation. Pierce was not so sure about the experience.
The Sanders w/Layton and Preston and Litton's joined us for US Thai food.

Bath time is one of GP's favorite activities. GP takes this time to share some life lessons and history (trivia for the rest of us). Not so sure Pierce is buying into it this time.

And now it's time for Pierce to share a kids perspective on life!

TLC Baptizim

I've shared with you before how Tony and Zella and their church have touched our lives.  Today we were blessed to be part of a new beginning for many of their church as they were being baptized as believers.  Those being baptized proudly came wearing their robes.  As they were asked the words of confession, there was no hesitation, only Yes Lord, Yes Lord, Yes Lord.  I remember the day I was baptized and I know these people will too. Thank you Tony and Zella for allowing us to be part of your community.  Thank you Ellen for opening your home to this beautiful experience for so many.

Addison Jazz in the Park

Last night Hal and I (and a few hundred of our closets friends) listened to some jazz music.  Each July, Addison runs a series of jazz weekends with local jazz performers.  It's held outdoors in the park area.  Some of these people come prepared, with teak tables, lamps gourmet food and drinks of course.  It was a lovely evening and we had a great time listening to some good jazz and for sure people watching.

Bastille Day

I thought our friends came up with some far out reasons/excuses to celebrate with a glass of wine, but KW and Julie have out done us!  With costume and I'm sure quality of wine.

Best Small Group

Our Small Group has been a little laxs in our "study" the last few months...OK maybe year.  But we are back on track and thank Jerry for his leadership.  Not only do we have study, we have home work and crafts!  Our homework assignment was to list 1 or more ways you admire, appreciate or see the confidence of Christ in each other.  When you take a moment to really think about each person individually and how they impact your life and those around them, it's quite remarkable.  Jerry compiled the list and we each received our own love letter with words of affirmation and love given from those around us.  We are all feeling good about now.  Time for crafts now......We each had to create a message of faith, a bumper sticker.  A fun evening with great study, fellowship and crafts.  I love this Small Group.

Old Warsaw

Last night Rod and Mollie treated us to a lovely evening being with friends and a fabulous dinning experience.  Old Warsaw is one of Rod and Mollie's favorite restaurants and we now know why.  Old charm and wonderful cuisine.  The night began with a torrential rain storm on our way downtown.  Once inside, you felt like you were a million miles away from the hectic world.
Thank you Rod and Mollie for a beautiful evening.

July 4th 2010

For many years a group of us have congregated on a specific corner in Addison for KaBoom Town fireworks. This year the rain kept us away so we met at John & Susan’ with our paper products, dips, chips, baked beans, potato salad and of course the yearly fried chicken. We were treated once again to Jerry’s homemade ice cream for dessert. He has this recipe down and it’s so delicious.
There is always next year KaBoom Town……
But that’s not the only game in town for fireworks. Sunday night, the rain stayed away, the temperatures were in the 80’s with a light wind. It was a Chamber of Commerce kind of night for fireworks at Breckenridge Park. This is becoming one of my favorite places for fireworks.
