Switzerland / France Day 13 & 14

Today on the agenda was shopping in St Remy.  This is one of Liz's favorite places and I can see why.  It would be nice to go back and stay in the town and just hang out for a few days.  However, on this day we had planned to shop and the weather was not the best for shopping but that doesn't mean we don't shop!  We all found something we couldn't live without in St Remy.  Of course shopping makes you hungry!

Day 14 took us to Pont du Gard in Avignon.  The Roman Aqueduct is one of the oldest and most remarkable Roman hydraulic works. The bridge is 48.77m high, has three levels and was built in ca. 20 BC (newer excavations, however, suggest the construction may have taken place between 40 and 60 AD). It crosses the river Gardon near Nimes (south of France). It was a beautiful day to be outside and strolling around.
I forgot how many years old this olive tree is, but it's old!  There were 3 of them.

Wayne is just so darn photogenic!
And Liz is so darn cute!
We only had Jean Lux for 1/2 day today and after getting locked IN at the villa we got a late start.  Jean Lux knew of a photo op since we were on a limited time schedule.  In the background is the Pope's Palace.

We had about 45 minutes to roam around the grounds.  There were outdoor cafes surrounding the plaza.  A great place to people watch.  When we met up with Jean Lux he had a gift for us....wine!  One of his friends owns a wine store near the palace.  Jean Lux had seen on one of our market (wine) trips we had purchased the lessor grade of wine and he thought we should try one of his favorites.
We head home tomorrow, a bitter sweet day.  Another wonderful trip with wonderful friends!  Wonder where our adventure will take us next.  Here are a few random picture...
